iSURFATLANTIC project consortium meets to advance coordination and communication

The consortium of the iSURFATLANTIC met on 12 December to discuss the project framework, contractual aspects, communication strategy, and next steps for implementation.
The iSURFATLANTIC project is co-funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme through the European Union, and is coordinated by OesteCIM. The consortium brings together 9 partners from four Atlantic countries: Portugal, Spain, France, and Ireland, working jointly to promote inclusive and sustainable surfing routes across the Atlantic Area.
The Subsidy Contract was signed on 5 December, formally enabling full project implementation..
The in-person project Kick-off meeting is scheduled for February 2026 in Portugal and will be prepared and hosted by OesteCIM, reinforcing the coordinator’s role in steering the project at territorial level.
As Lead Partner, OesteCIM is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the project, including technical and financial monitoring, liaison with the Joint Secretariat, consolidation of progress reports, and ensuring coherence in project communication and visibility.
The meeting also highlighted challenges faced by one consortium partner due to changes in its communication team, which may affect its capacity to actively participate. The consortium agreed on the importance of mutual support to ensure full partner engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
A strong focus was placed on communication and visibility, in line with Interreg Atlantic Area branding requirements. The consortium agreed on the creation of a Communication Kit, to be made available in a shared repository accessible to all partners. A shared SharePoint workspace will also be set up to centralise the project dossier and key documentation.

The project will develop:
  • A dedicated project logo and branding, to be submitted to the Joint Secretariat;
  • A project website with a dedicated page;

From this point onwards, all project communications must obligatorily use the iSURFATLANTIC project logo. In addition, each partner, including OesteCIM, must ensure the public display of an A3 poster indicating their participation in the project. A common visual layout will be provided within the Communication Kit, allowing partners to adapt it to their institutional identity while maintaining visual coherence.

The immediate next steps include:
  • Coordinating the development and release of the Communication Kit;
  • Leading the implementation of the shared SharePoint and repository;
  • Supporting partners facing implementation challenges;
  • Preparing the strategy and logistics for the in-person Kick-off event in Portugal;
  • Ensuring that all communication actions fully comply with Interreg Atlantic Area branding and visibility rules.
